Play crazy with Mio

Highly Seductive Cat Toys

With up to 12 cats and kittens in the household while fostering street cats in Otavi, we needed to come up with something entertaining besides scratching on the furniture, climbing curtains, and bringing poor birds and mice home for and as dinner or entertainment... WE HAD TO COME UP WITH SOMETHING! The toys we found in shops did not look too nice after being thrown around a couple times, chewed on and all soaked with drool...

When a friend gave me a CatNip plant, and I saw the impact on our cats, I had to try to sew a toy filled with this impressive Cat 'drug' for them to play with. One toy turned into many, and thanks to the overwhelming response of our feline testers, it was obvious, these toys had to be included into our *Mio* product range!

Not only do we try to make the toys in the cutest shapes, we use strong fabric to make them lasting, and add little things like bells, buttons, feathers or rope to make the toys more interesting and versatile.

Even if your cat does not react on CatNip (find out more in our info-box at the end of the site), it should still be crazy about the toys!

Like most of our *Mio*s, each toy is hand sewn, stuffed with homegrown CatNip and soft filling, and is a unique version of our designs!

You know your cat has been in the CatNip when...

...you find him rolling on the floor, rubbing his face against his *Mio*, getting the crazy stare, kicking the toy with his feet... Summed up... IF even the laziest couch potatoe turns into a flipped-out ball of ecstasy!

Catnip is a member of the mint family. Nepetalactone, The essential oil in catnip, has a powerful effect on cats who are sensitive to it (It is genetic. You can find out when the cat is between 3 to 6 moths).
